AGS lauds Buwan ng Wika

            On the 19th day of August 2011, Amazing Grace School celebrated the annual Buwan ng Wika with the theme “Ang Filipino ay Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas”.
 
Students and teachers were dressed in traditional Filipino costumes for the whole day. In celebration of this event, a program was held at the gymnasium, which started at 2 in the afternoon and ended at 4. Kara Ilmedo and Ivan Santos served as the masters of the ceremonies. The event started with a prayer and was followed by the singing of the National Anthem led by selected high school students. Ms. Lorelyn dela Cruz delivered a welcome address in line with this year’s theme, after which, the ECA presentations ECA were rendered, beginning with Kultura wherein the group gracefully performed a traditional Filipino dance. The Glee Club and Guitar Club from the high school department performed the song “Papuring Awit” while the Elementary department inbterpreted in dance and sang some Filipino folk songs. Our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, was also remembered in two of his famous novels—Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo—as each class from the third year and fourth year high school level presented a play dialogue.
 
A message was given by Mr. Ryan Bautista at the end of the program and followed by a closing prayer. Students and their respective advisers headed back to their classrooms to feast on favorite and well-known Filipino dishes.
