Amazing Grace School annually celebrates Family Day with the purpose of uniting families in joy, happiness, and recreation. With the theme, “Pamilya ko, Dala ko Mismo”, this year’s family day was held last Saturday, August 22, 2009 at AGS’ gymnasium, and started at 8:00 in the morning. The masters of ceremony were Mr. Glen Alvia and Mr. Virgil de Dios. The program started with an opening prayer of Ptr. Sandy Ong, followed by praise and worship headed by Mrs. Roslieshane Cinco. Mrs. Milagros Tadeo, the school principal, gave an opening speech to formally welcome the families. A special song number “Pag-isahin” was performed by selected parents and teachers that also entertained them.
The most awaited part of the program started with the series of games. These were the Newspaper Dance, “Mother Went to the farm”, “Kadang-kadang” (a traditional Filipino game), Coin Relay, and Obstacle Relay which were enjoyed
with the participation of different families. Dance numbers were also performed by selected Second Year students and Faculty
members, followed by a skit from selected Third Year level which showed the hand of God working in families.
Winners for each game were awarded by Mrs. Tadeo. Early Bird Look-alike Award was awarded to Ortez Family; Family of the Day was given to Mansweto Family; and for the Hat competition: Bea Montero (3rd place), Joseph Aligna (2nd place) and Hannah Santos (1st place) were the winners.
The event ended with a closing prayer led by the school chaplain, Ptr. Mario Ilmedo. There were at least 280-300 family members who attended the said event. <S>
